Tis the Season to be Running

Tis the Season to be running!

With the holidays just around the corner and the busyiness of trying to fit that run in can sometimes be difficult.

With all the Christmas parties and the extra food you may indulge during the time. It might be a good idea to try

to keep training.

During the holidays here are some tips to keep running and to keep the weight off from those too many egg nog lattees.

1. Run with a friend that way you are not only committing to yourself, but to someone else. You can also join a running club.

2. Record in your running log book. This will help motivate you and you can also record your daily calories during the holiday time.

3. Reward yourself after runs. It can be anything from a chocolate bar to a coffee with a friend.

4. Have a goal in mind. When is your next race? If you have registered for a race then you have already committed to training for this event.

5. Run right after work, don't hesitate into not going out for a run as you may not be motivated enough afterwards.

6. Run when you have the most time then you won't feel so pressured.

7. Enjoy every run. Just been out there doing it can be rewarding enough. Make it part of your daily routine.

8. Mix up your routes. This will give you a break from the usual routine.

9. Try cross training like snowshoeing make a day trip out of it.

10. Read running magazines and see what other runners are doing to help motivate themselves during the holiday season.
